Small to medium businesses who specialise in selling food and drink, should invest in a
website builder as the sector looks set to double online within five years.
International food and grocery experts the IGD has carried out research which finds the value of the online grocery market is set to almost double, to £9.5 billion by 2015.
The current market value of the sector stands at £4.8 billion.
Internet sales for groceries will then be worth the equivalent of 5.2 per cent of the total British grocery market – which stands at 3.2 per cent at today.
Chief executive of the IGD, Joanne Denney-Finch, says: "There is still plenty of potential for significant expansion."
