The Federation of Small Business is calling for an overhaul of business regulations to stimulate the economy and create jobs.
The organisation says stopping new business related legislation and reducing red tape could open up and save more than 300,000 jobs across the country.
Figures produced by the Government suggested that 60 per cent of enterprises consider regulation to be an obstacle to success.
North East businessman and national FSB chairman, John Wright says "We cannot and must not underestimate the burden that unnecessary regulation puts on small businesses".
He went on to explain how small firms want to employ more staff and the Government should make it easier for them to do so.
The FSA are now urging the Government to make these changes to provide a economic stimulus to help boost growth and employment.
