A Japanese company has developed technology that allows a mobile phone to track every movement of an employee and send the results back to their boss.
The system works by using accelerometers in the phone to detect even the smallest movements and according to a BBC report it's so accurate that it can detect the difference between walking, running and climbing stairs.
KDDI, the company behind the phone, says that managers will now be able to more effectively analyse the behaviour and efficiency of staff.
It's got some observers worried about the privacy implications, but it's also hoped the device could be useful in other areas such a tele-medicine and care of the elderly.
