A crematorium plans to film and broadcast funerals over the net from next month.
The Weeley Crematorium near Essex is launching a service that allows mourners to watch the service as it happens or at any time in the following week.
It will cost the local council around £1,600 and will be available from 1st November. The webcasting facility is hoped to help friends and family who can't attend a funeral.
The local councillor, Lynda McWilliams, says the service could be a great comfort to people far away or those too ill to make the ceremony.
The online service is only available via a unique PIN code.
