Computers struggle to understand men and find women much easier to listen to.
That's the conclusion of a University of Edinburgh study that was researching ways to make speech recognition software more accurate.
The research, which aimed to make automated phone systems more effective, found that women were easier to understand as they did not 'umm' and 'err' as much as the men.
It also found that raising your voice in frustration when the machine got things wrong only made the problem worse.
It's hoped that the study will lead to simpler and more efficient ways for humans to interact with computers.
